I was thinking of advertisements of people's residences that they pay for via a server broadcast. However, they would only be visible in town. I was thinking that if this was put into the servers, it would be something like 500r for 8 hours. The advertisement would be written by the person who paid for it, and possibly would have a command like this, if possible: /ad [#hours] [message] [residence] It would be perfect for players who aren't able to attract many players to their shops due to the large and well-known mega-malls on the servers. Has been suggested before, Got turned down. I want this, but there should be a way to not see the ads because new players need to know shop reses but old players dont
Faith has more rupees than Todd. Besides, since their shops are already so well known, they would waste money for this... But advertising my build would be nice hehe
They'd advertise to drown out the other adds. Are adds time limited to stop them spamming chat, like 1 every 5 minutes? Are they cycled? If you buy adds for 8 hours, how many impressions do you get, and what happens when each time slot is full? I don't really like the idea, there's already a whole forum for advertising your shop.
Don't you think that 500r for 8 hours is way to cheap? And it is true that big mega malls have more money, so they could also have more ads. And it will make the chat way more crappy.
The reason for this is that not everyone looks at the forum for shops, and people prefer the shops they are familiar with, leading many new players not able to run their shops
If people prefer shops they are familiar with, how will advertising help? If advertising is to be used at all, why not advertise the forums? It could say "Looking for some where to shop, check out the EMC products and services forum"
