I've been having fun harvesting ice out in the Waste and a thought came to me. Wouldn't it be nice to have boots that act like ice skates? They would behave exactly like boats on ice. What do you think?
Interesting idea!! It might be a bit overpowered if they behaved exactly like boats, but a higher Frost Walker enchant level would be cool! There was an opportunity to do that with Kryssy's Dancing Boots but they skipped it
Right now a boat is used to travel down ice highways, it's not realistic. I wouldn't want Frost Walker on the boots because that would mean you could slide rapidly over open water. That would be too overpowered. If the skates offered an increased speed rating just on existing ice that would eliminate the boats. I would also expect the momentum effect on the skates so a player would still slide into the corners just like a boat.
I like the idea - Maybe a speed 3 boot on only ice blocks (not packed or blue ice), otherwise only iron boots? Maybe with thorns since ice skates are kinda sharp.
