Hey EMC, Do you have a Cheap Shop? Say Iron, but only limit 9 stacks or 1 stack a day? This would be Ideal for the shop.... The way it would work, is you would enter a command and then place the shop sign (This command would activate it for the one shop you create after the command, sot it would only be effective on that shop its self....) So it would be like this.... /shopbulk 64:1 The 64 would be the amount, as it is per 1 item, so a stack would be 64.... And the 1 would be the days, as the bulk system would be in days, so if it was bulk per week, it would be 7.... After entering the command, you would have to create a shop like normal, and it would be valid on the one shop you made, so it you want to make more shops, you would have to enter the command for each shop sign... Feel free to comment anything... ~Finch
What is the point of having a shop & refusing to sell to customers? I'm in retail irl and I am quite willing to sell every item I have in stock, even if it depletes me to zero. I mean, that's pretty much the point of a shop... To sell off stuff, right? What does it matter if you sell it all to player 1, instead of 1/4 to players 2,3,4,&5? You are still making money. I don't see the problem here, sorry.
Yes but I also do have a shop where i sell cheap Iron and gold only but want to limit it as i cant do it full time.... I also want everyone to be able to get some of the items instead of one person.... There are also many shops that are the same way, don't want all one person hogging all the items, but instead for many people to get a chance to have some of the items, shops like 12255. Remember your not the only person with a shop that allows bulk buying.... there are many that don't like it, I see hundreds of shops that have a limit of say 1-9 stacks per day...
Honestly, I am not a big fan of the shops that restrict bulk buying. The only one I even go to is poof but they allow up to a SC for what is considered bulk. I use +hoard on smp9 because I can buy any non-crafted item in any quantity I want and Colt/DA could care less on the amount. I see that if this were to be implemented, way too many shop owners would use it and then lose business. I hardly go to player shops for items in 1-4 quantity as I generally need stacks upon stacks of said item. This would be a cool idea if other things didnt need doing on the dev side. However, I am against due to the fact that dev team is busy and I would see this as places losing business instead of improving the shopping experience. Doesnt mean this idea isnt cool though.
To clarify, I do not have a shop on EMC. I'm in retail in real life. Still not sure why you'd be willing to sell items in limited quantities at a cheap price. Like a sale? Have a "sale chest". Hook up the supply to an extreme timer and only have a few slots that fill up. Problem solved?
Well, that would not work as it would still be one person waiting till the timer is out and buying more.... Plus the lag it would put on Client to server.... For example, I have this shop.... https://empireminecraft.com/threads/selling-cheap-iron-and-gold-ingots.53251/ Then there are shops like.... https://empireminecraft.com/threads/shop-smp5-iron.64470 and for bigger ones as I suggested 12255, and much more shops.... I myself am in retail as i am co-owner of Flashback Memorabilia.... But real life it different then ingame... there are many reasons why someone would want a limit per player for a set time... mine is; I would never take the limit away as when i opened the shop, i would fill the shop with a DC of Iron Ingots, a DC of Iron blocks a DC of gold and a DC of Gold blocks and one person would come and get it all.... I want everyone to be ale to get these items, even the people who cant afford to spend the money at malls to pay more for an amount.... Mine is at 9 stacks per player per day, but yet people still buy more.... This new feature would help my shop plus many others like mine.... Sure some may be mad, but it will help out many people as right now if you bulk buy, you get banned from the shop from buying, if this was added, it would stop you at the limit and allow you to keep buying there in the feature as you are unable to bulk buy... Maybe also ask a few others why they also have limits and get some other responses on why they do it, but i bet it will be very similar to my reasons..... Once you ask them.... feel free to get back, maybe you will understand the concept of limiting an item and preventing bulk buying in shops..... Oh also, there are many stores in real life that have limits I see it all the time, For example, A store will have say Chips, 10 cents cheaper and have a limit of 5 per person, and when you check out they will not allow you to get more.... Big Stores, like Zehrs, and Metro....
