No its real. Its the fact that its an optical illusion. I've watched it so many times now I can see that its nothing but real. Watch it again, but this time watch his fingers and hands, not the rings themselves. You'll see that its entirely what the rings look like and he really isn't doing all that much himself. Don't get me wrong its still hard as hell to do that, but you'll be able to tell its real that way.
Those dance moves are skillful! I loved the choreography. Watching the original clip (the one linked to in the bottom-right annotation of the video) is recommended. I wonder if that style of dancing has a name. I'm also very amused how it fits so well with the Nyan-cat music, haha.
