  1. Thought this would be an interesting topic, since I brought it up in smp1 before the reboot. :p

How do you all play Minecraft?
    Keyboard? Mouse? Joystick? Gamepad?
For me, I use a keyboard/mouse if I'm not doing anything rigorous,
    and a gamepad when exploring/mob fighting/PvP-ing.

I leave my keyboard/mouse settings default, as my controller is fully keyboard/mouse mappable.
And since everyone already knows what the default controls for Minecraft are, I'll just post my gamepad controls.

I'm using a Nyko Airflo EX controller. It has the exact same (and location) of buttons as a PS3 controller, so I'll be using a PS3 controller as reference to show what does what:

Left Thumbstick - Movement (WASD keys)
Right Thumbstick - Rotation (Moves mouse up/down/left/right)
    D-pad - Hotbar items 1 thru 4 (Up = 1, Left = 2, Right = 3, Down = 4; can be anything)
    - Hotbar item 6 (Sword/hand weapon slot)
    - Mine block (left-click)
    - Set block (right-click)
    - Jump (SPACE BAR)
    L1 - Hotbar item 5 (Bow/projectile slot)
L2 - drops currently held item (Q key)
L3 (left thumbstick button) - Sprint (CTRL)
    R1 - Sneak walk (SHIFT)
    R2 - Debug button (F3, for finding light levels/coordinates/etc)
R3 (right thumbstick button) - Pick Block (middle-click)
    SELECT - Hotbar item 9 (food/rations)
    START - inventory (E key)
HOME (between Start/Select) - Opens in-game menu (ESC key)

(spoiler button to avoid spamming with entire list)

So there: now everyone officially knows my setup!
    What about you guys? :)

  2. Keyboard/Mouse.

I hate using a controller unless I'm playing Burnout or Mortal Kombat. Sword and gun combat is a lot nicer with a keyboard and mouse :p
  3. I just use keyboard and mouse. The only things I changed are "R" for change perspective and "CAPS LOCK" for sprint.
  4. I prefer a keyboard and mouse, through a controller of the Xbox because I have to. :)
