Now I understand what you are talking about, having a panel, not another option for recent activity but a panel for recent threads on the right side of the home page. I was talking about the "recent activity" button on the home page and you were talking about the "recently bumped threads" panel... understood, now... i think.
I don't believe this is possible, unless EMC "hacks" Xenforo. EMC is running an old version of Xenforo, which isn't able to do this I believe.
