The entire purpose of this is so that while in the Wild you are on an adventure. If you can still hear what people are saying in Town, what is the point? This will be a positive thing to have. If you want people to get to your shop, advertise on the Shop Forum, or just stay in town...
I have skimmed over the thread, so forgive me if I missed something. My idea, if feasible, would be to set the default channel to Local while in the Wild or Nether. One may thus be able to change it back to global later if he really, REALLY wants to. This will also force people to actually read the chat command section and learn it (with only 2-3 channels, you're not going to tell me that they can't remember them). The Global chat keeps me company in the wild, like a radio from another world
I have to post this in here due to the new chat changes.... HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP! Because in the Nether, no-one can hear you scream. Seriously though, I'm screwed. Hopefully when I re-log on that half a heart, that Zombie Pigman that had me trapped down a stairwell will have wandered off somewhere else. If not.... ... Ahah.. He's still there. Quickest Disconnect ever.
