Hi everybody... To my great shame, I'm forced to admit it - I failed. Past few days have been driving me crazy - I've spent hours typing in every possible combination of the words "SMP 1.5.1 3x3 Piston Door" that I can think of into YouTube, and have spent hours painstakingly following and building every design of 3x3 piston door I can find, but they NEVER seem to work here. I'm tearing my hair out - but I'm not too proud to ask for help! Has ANYONE, *EVER* found a design for a 3x3 piston door that works in our great Empire 1.5.1? Please send me a link or something to some design, cus if I can't make my door I'm totally gonna cry. Thank you

3x3 piston doors don't work on EMC because Aikar disabled something that can occur with redstone... ViTiRi explained it all to me but I can't remember everything, it's probably best you PM him about it

I've heard that this was broken as a result of changes that were made to thwart Sand generators. There is also a Flip-Flop that is used in one of the tree harvesters that this affects. I'm not sure exactly what was changed. I'm guessing it affects any Sticky Pistons on a fast clock.
Ah yes... the day my Sand Generator stopped. I remember it well - I sad day indeed. I never really got what the problem was about that. They never did anyone any harm. I loved building it and getting it to work for the first time. And isn't that what Minecraft is all about?
Meh. At the time I was doing it, I didn't know it wasn't allowed. Besides: 3. Thou Shalt Not Cheat Don’t use any mods or game exploits that give an advantage over other players. This includes see-through texture packs, modifications that allow you to move, jump or fly in a way not intended by the default game settings, and any game glitch or exploit that gives you an unfair advantage of any kind over other players. If you are caught cheating you will be permanently banned. If you are unsure whether a certain mod or other activity is allowed ask a moderator. To the best of my knowledge, my getting a few blocks of sand never 'gave me an advantage over another player'. I was far away on an island keeping myself to myself. It certainly was a game glitch, but I thought it was a fun one and it certainly didn't hurt anyone else. Anyway, I didn't know it wasn't allowed and now that I do know I wouldn't do it again. Do think it's a rather silly exclusion, though.
That aspect of sticky pistons has been disabled due to Sand generators - which were NEVER allowed on EMC...
Wherever you're using sand on the door, try using gravel. Not sure, but I think Aikar might have allowed pistons to interact with it.
