I am looking now to see if I see anything messed up. As for another server, just go to http://mcserverlist.net/ and pick a random one to test with
I am having issues (timeout during terrain download) with a different server (DarkCraft) so I guess the problem is on my end. Any hint would be appreciated. Also I guess this should go in the support forum...
Yeah I am trying to think of what else could cause the issue.... you tried most of the stuff I normally recommend. Did you try restarting your router?
Rebooting the router did not help. I am trying to sniff with Wireshark. Maybe I'll get a clue from that...
The only time I receive the "server host error" is when Java times out on me. I usually just have to restart the Minecraft client and log in again. This will clear the cache and you can then join again. If this does not help, restart your computer and try again. If that also fails, use smp1. If that also should fail, check out mcserverlist.net and try to join another one. If that doesn't work either, I can not help you out.. These are the only troubleshooting options I can personally offer.
Just got up, started playing and everything works like a charm. That means my system is fine but something between me and the server is not. My next suspicion is the ISP - from what I saw in wireshark yesterday there are tons of TCP drops until the server and client give up. Strangely, World of Tanks works just fine all around the clock.
to start with , i know its a silly question and obvious etc.... but i don't really understand how i can connect in a server ? what port i use , id or whatever it needs .... and is still there space for new residents on smp2 server or i have to w8 for a new one ? Pls answer me ...
You can find the server addresses and see how many open residences on the top of the site by clicking Servers
