if I can get it to work with my wifi ill post, but otherwise It will likely be easier to connect with New Leaf because of Nintendo's newer networking, so ill post then I guess.
This many sound confusing, but if you haven't already and know how, set you're wireless interface type to to what it is below, I had the same problem with my 3DS. (Also, I am on WPA2 with my 3DS with no problems.)
