Well, I had had two beacons, but I am currently auctioning them *Cough* http://empireminecraft.com/threads/auction-double-bbaaaaaccccooonnnn.21701/#post-399966 *Cough* and it's currently at 16.25k. Since I am a part of the Smp3 Outpost Crazy1800 made, all my skulls and beacons go to him, and then we fight dah withers with as many people at the outpost we can get, and then Crazy1800 sells them on his Smp1 residence for 10-12k. I have 6 bacon and ate like 3 if that counts. One day I went to the Nether, fell in a lava pool lost all my stuff (leather stuff and wood stuff) and never got back there. Ever.
If you find a good fortress, you can get skulls really easily. The most I've gotten in a day was like 9 skulls. That took a couple hours though. If you have a good location and extra time, making the money is rather easy.
