Good at math?

  1. Hello,

I need the help of someone that is good at math to help me figure the odds on a gambling machine I want to build.

    So here's the breakdown,

there are 4 droppers (9 random slots). Each has a 4 out of 9 chance of dropping the correct item and all 4 have the drop the correct item at the same time. So what are the odds that all 4 droppers will drop the winning item?

If you can give me the equation on how to figure this that would be great in case I want to change up the numbers.

    Thanks

  2. Assuming all droppers have the 9 slots filled.
It's a combination of 4 different odds, so you can multiply them
    4/9 odds x 4/9 odds x 4/9 odds x 4/9 odds
That'll give you a 256/6561 odd, which is close to 3.9%

  3. Yeah all the droppers are filled and thank you. I knew it was something simple but I suck at math.
