I have had this too, you could try to swap to 1.8.4 (if you didnt already) or update your video card drivers (mine stopped when I did that). Otherwise.... You could set your render distance down to 7 or below, but that feels like a limitation

I'm having problems outside of MC too. Did all the stuff suggested, and it is happening less often...
