It's not about what people can afford. It's about what people are willing to pay for. Look at the Micro-Transactions in Eve online. A virtual shirt for your Avatar costs the same if not more than a real shirt but people buy it. EMC is a business ultimately. A 'not for profit' business, but a business nonetheless. They need to run in a way that makes ends meet and offering more perks to the top tier of Supporter is one of those ways. Iron is the bargain bin Supporter level designed really for the Reserved Slot feature. It's a chance to give people a way to support for the bare minimum a month and was specifically requested by the Community. As such, it's bare in terms of Perks, but that's how it should be.
I am willing to traade EvE ISK for EMC stuff SO MUCH isk and nothing to spend it on But aside from theextra utopia slot - 4 res for diamond is much better imho..
