Chunky Render Service

  1. it depends on the amount of shadows IMO. Because it is the shadows that really need the most passes. At 5k, I still did not get the perfect blacks I wanted in the first picture. But 5k looked better than 4k to me.
Chunky is multithreaded. And the computer I was doing these example renders is in fact doing other things. But I am moving it to a computer that does nothing xD.

The one I am using right now is an older Core 2 Duo, so its not the fastest, nor do I claim it to be.

I am just doing this because I think it is cool, and have the spare hardware and time to deliver these images to people who do not.

I am not in it for money or anything, because honestly, 1k is a drop in the bucket, I am not that interested. I just thought it was fun.

  2. I don't get it. Like what do you do?

That should explain how it works. I might end up doing it, as my CPU is pretty efficient and very fast, while creating little heat:D
  4. It takes the environment you choose in minecraft, and then it renders it, sort like how a 3D environment is rendered for videos like Pixar movies, or cutscenes from video games.

If you want to know the exact process this link will give you more than enough information.

Screenshot: http://imgur.com/2aswx, this is a screenshot of the livemap, but i would like it if you made a render where you can see the complete tower. If a building this big takes extra time, please tell me if you want more money :)
  6. ok.. so you want the whole tower... is there anyway you can get screenshot from the location that you would want that at?

like.. from what side an such?
  7. can you explain how this is different than just taking a screenshot? what is it doing, just taking multiple screenshots and layering them on top of one another? i don't get it
  8. I cant get a screenshot right now, but the angel you see it from the live map is ok too :)
  9. It actually renders it. If you look up chunky minecraft renders, you can the real difference it makes. Its just a still yes... but, it renders it in more detail and depth than mincraft actually allows, making things look better. Like if you see the Shaders Mod, its like that, but even better and more defined.
  10. Here is my try!:

  11. btw nfell2009, your shot is baking right now :). I will give you a preview once I get one that pops out, so you can tell me if you like the shot or not
  12. Ok :D Do you like the one I did? My computer doesn't like Chunky! xD
    Google Chrome:
    Flash has crashed
    Java has crashed
    OnlineGaming has crashed
    xD
    Everything went slow
  13. Set the priority of Java as low in the task manager. I don't notice a difference in the speed of anything with it set.
  14. Thanks :D
  15. So, Nfell2009, it gives me an esitmated time of 23 hours for your render xD. Because there are just so many shandows and windows and all kinds of things going on. Anyways, I will post a sample here in the next hour or so.
