What's the difference? Group of people can be annoyed just like one specific player. But, people takes this differently. For example, i know herb don't like anyone asking for anything while i don't mind player asking for help if (s)he can show me some nice stuff (s)he built so far or the project (s)he's working on and if i know (s)he spend time in wild to get some stuff on his/her own and is in generally cool player helping other players... In that case i have no trouble with them and i donate too sometimes. But to ask for stuff because you're too lazy to do anything, that's just horrible..
That's not true. Players often ask me for help and I often spend hours helping them. Quite often, I use 1000's of my own r's to help 'em do things. All I object to is, begging. I don't care if it's Joe-n00b begging for 50r to buy a helmet, or Mr-bigshot asking for 10,000 for a casino. If it's Joe-noob I politely ask 'em not to beg, and suggest they chop down a couple of trees and sell me the wood. And I usually give 'em a few saps. I'm sure someone building a casino, shop or anything else would insist that it's "fun" and "for everyone". I spent months gathering resources to build up my own shop; and it was fun because it was challenging. If people can just get items for free, by begging, then this may as well be a creative server.
So if people like IamSaj who asked indirectly for sponsors for his Top 5 Creations are asking for rupee donations, they shouldn't...?! Or is there a different opinion of people who say 'Kan I haz 10,000 rupeez for my shop?' and 'If you would like to make an item or rupee donation, feel free to, we appreciate it...[etc]'
Yeah, I never really get that though. If they said that then I would just ignore them. I mean things like community events such as the Mob Arena - I donate up to 50k to winners
I didn't mean like helping in this way. I know you're helping a lot, i absolutely agree, i was talking about donation. You don't like anyone asking for donation, no matter the reason and that's fine by me, it's your choice, nothing wrong with it. And i said some people might donate if it's a really good reason, otherwise they don't like beggars also. That's different. He used donations for bigger rewards for the winners. You can see in his post who donated and how much he donated. So, you can see it's all for rewards. Most contests usually works this way.
