Today when I went to my res, I noticed that the Australian flag I had turned into an Italian Flag, this happens to be the case all over smp2.
When you look at a map on a server, it stores in your client's memory associated with that map number. When you then change to a different server, where that map number may be a different map, then it may override what should be there on your screen. It is all client side though and a simple re-log should fix it. And don't worry, I freaked out the first time it happened too.
