The time after a last valid bid, I imagine, is to provide opportunity for other players to see and participate in an auction.I just hope you were poking fun at khixan. I like to see fun auctions .

And why not bid an extra 1k? Who wants to pay more than they have to? Maybe your bid was your top limit before you were out. Normally bidders do not ask each other whether or not they are out of the auction, they just keep bidding.

If you feel everyone is abusing the time after last valid bid, I'm sure you can just change auction rules to just have a time limit of whatever the seller wants. Or limit the amount of days after a last valid bid an auction can have before it closes.
