It will cause some brief lag for people in that area when you go to uncharted areas. This is because the server has to build those areas. This is also why when we launch new worlds they have a bit more lag
I found a dungeon and an awesome ravine a few days ago, probably about 1k out from the spawn. It was previously explored to an extent, but I look at a lot of it and found some real cool stuff.
