I do see Annih's point, and EMC does contradict itself from time to time on this subject. EMC: "Don't steal from unlocked chests." Bod: "I had my stuff stolen." EMC: "Should've bought a locked chest." Bod: "Too expensive." EMC: "It's the Wild, it's the risk you run, but don't steal from chests." A bit contradictory. I had imagined that locked chests would have meant that's it, there's a line under it, lock it or lose it.
Annih why are you defending looting so bad? The rules CLEARLY state no stealing/griefing. Just respect the rules and don't worry about it.
