Have faith dead! In my AS levels I got D, D, E, U... For A2 I got C, D and E, and I've got a place at a good uni. If you do take resits make sure you start revising early. I attended 3 Year 12 Biology lessons a week on top of my 6 year 12 lessons, and I definitely felt the most comfortable with it when it came to exam season :) What do you study?
I do chemistry, physics and maths. Not the easiest subjects the school offers haha, I do a BTEC course of ICT as my sixth form doesn't do A level yet :'(. I relied on the same revision strategy as with GCSE - no revision and high grades! xD
Snap! I got 5As and 4Bs at GCSE with little revision, and that definitely didn't work at AS XD Yeah those are tough, I did Bio, Chem, Psych and Maths... I know how you feel about subjects :P
In american: An A* is highest grade possible overall, it's possible to get one of these at the end of highschool (age 11-16) with really high scores. I had a few ^.^ but you can't get them at AS level, the year after GCSE. The AS levels then advance into A2 where it is possible to get an A* :P. Complicated, I know. BTEC is basically a coursework version of a subject.
Same thing is the understatement of the century. SAT/ACT and their graduate equivalents, LSAT and GRE, are nothing more than tests to see how well you test. As a measure for how well you'll do in a university environment they're a very poor measure to get an idea of that.
