    It is a joke about some of the websites, programs, and people that pretend to be helpful but actually have bad intentions.

    It asks if your credit card number has been stolen, then offers to let you type your card number in again to check. As Mirr0rr says below, perfectly legitimate, right?

    I work on people's pc's all the time and find that they have installed those types of programs thinking that it would help them. I've never known anyone who actually paid money or lost vital information. Enough people must fall for it to keep the bad guys trying.

    Think of the Nigerian Prince scams. They have been around at least 20 years. Many people know of them and think they are a joke, yet I hear of at least one or two people getting completely taken by one every year.
