Alexchance was and is a great mod. He has been a huge part of the EMC community, and he deserves the remotion. In my opinion, he should have never been demoted.
All of our staff are amazing. Everyone has a past and everyone has the chance to redeem themselves. The difference is that some people improve over time and others don't.
The hate issues that you mention are no longer a problem. As for abusing powers: be careful where you get your information. Blindly believing rumors is not the way you want to live your life.
Well change "reinstated" to "promoted" and take away the "you do to get kicked off the mod team" and this status refers to a lot of people. (And is true)
Hey guess what Olaf? See how you're talking crap here about ICC like "He has the maturity of a toddler"? That's what got you banned on that account (you got a little out of hand), you're lucky to be posting with it right now, so I would suggest you stop before you get to riled up like you did last time.
Instead of calling former moderators "bad" and calling ICC "immature", etc, just don't say anything. Stop bashing former staff and kissing up to the current ones.
I would suggest that you both stop throwing sticks into an empty campfire. The people directly involved have told people time and time again to stop creating drama over this. It has been almost a month and you still try to stir up hate.
I was just expressing my opinion, I didn't try to stir up hate that is what others in this thread have been doing. All of the information that I have said in this status has been told to me by current and former staff members, and I also don't "blindly believe rumors". When I feel that I can trust what I am told is the only time I will say something.
Y'all need Jesus. :P But in all seriousness, why the hissy fights? In my honest opinion, Alex was, and is a good moderator. He has helped EMC tremendously, like other new moderators, such as Battmeghs
And that is where you are wrong. Instead of making assumptions, perhaps you should actually try to lodge a formal complaint instead of being a vigilante and posting it to your public profile.
I have no idea what this profile post is about but it's pretty much entirely true.
jussayin'.
the only person who can't become a mod by kissing up is MR2R2M. And that's only because he creeped Justin out. By offering to mail him candies and chocolates, if my memory isn't complete garbage.
I believe this status is about SkyTheKidRS, though I could be wrong.
If you have a complaint, it is best no to stir up drama and message the Community Managers because it is their job to community manage/set people on fire.
Crazy is also wrong. If that were true, I know a few players that would be staff right now. On the flip-side of that, a few of our current staff I did not know until I saw their application.
I'm talking about former members of the staff team, so you don't get confused.
The formula is: wait a few months, act contrite, remind them that you were a staff member and thus know how to be a staff member.
I've done it, as have others. I know it works. Sucking up as a player just gets you put on the "people who shouldn't be made staff members" list which I doubt has been updated.
In the case of a staff member stepping down voluntarily, if they want to come back, then yes they are normally allowed back unless there are other issues present. For those that are asked to step down, they have to show that they have changed to be considered back.
Well, a deletion wouldn't matter, since staff members can view (and undelete) posts and threads. It would take a special level of surreptitious behavior to hide it from privileged eyes.
I won't name names because that's not nice. Don't worry.
I'll save face here, so it doesn't sound so bad. For one, the list wasn't quite that blunt. For two, it was on a thread regarding Staff participation in the staff application process.
You got on the list if you were well-known and occasionally contrary or seditious. It was a short list, it wasn't checked or scheduled, and in my time it was updated twice, totaling like twelve names.
If I recall, the purpose of the list was to prevent confusion in new members. That is to say, if someone posted frequently and argued with staff members on the forums.. then became a staff member themselves.. all their previous actions would be indistinguishable from their actions as a staff member.
Crazy... "Sucking up as a player just gets you put on the "people who shouldn't be made staff members" list which I doubt has been updated." That's how it SHOULD be, but it is most certainly and obviously not.
I feel like we should make a "Have an issue? Tell us" part two thread. I feel it is really nessisary right now. Too many players are being fed up and it's just right that every player gets to say something.
I think the first one was a great idea, accept that nothing was accomplished in the first one. That, and tensions are high right now. The first one resulted in a lot of trouble.
I know but, the only main reason the first one didn't do so well is because : they closed the thread, they edited out questions, and etc. Now that we are in May, it's worth a try. I am willing to trust aikar again, because he is leading EMC into a good way. Without him, justin guy would have sold EMC long ago. (No hard feeling on him though lol)
