Yeah. Maybe if they really wanted it to be worthwhile, they could also do it in a badlands so we can mine terracotta and extra gold or a windswept hills near the coast so we may find deepslate emeralds?
The deep dark only generates in low-erosion areas, and windswept hills are in high-erosion areas. It's snowy slopes, groves, badlands and the jagged, frozen and stony peaks that generate in low-erosion areas. Furthermore, emeralds don't generate in cave biomes (which also means windswept forest is a bad idea due to lush caves), nor does the extra gold badlands have.
