I'm looking back now and I actually joined EMC on May 2, 2012. About 10 years ago, that's quite some time to be honest. I'm surprised the server is still active, but seeing how Minecraft is still really popular that doesn't surprise me so much. Back when I joined EMC it was just a whole different community of players.
A lot of people slowly stopped coming online, including myself and that was part of why I stop coming back on. There was certain people that made being here more desirable. Including people like you of course. Kind and helpful and talkative. Maybe just the people I enjoyed playing Minecraft with are the main reason I kept sticking around.
There's definitely still some good people here. I'm never going to deny that. It's crazy to think it's already been a year almost since I've departed. I think with the disease I have, which I finally figured out what the mysterious illness was no doctor could help diagnose was is Lyme disease.
I was bit by a tick around the time I joined EMC on my right arm, and I'm guessing it happened one night when I went to sleep in the backyard when I had a little camp fire going. When I woke up I had a black looking thing deep in my arm, and a red area around the bite. I had no clue what it was.
I guess the tick was embedded and I brushed it off knocking the tick off and the head was still deep in my arm during the time I was sleeping that night in the backyard. It took about 3 days just to get the head out of my arm. Had no clue what Lyme disease was. Never heard of it. Never was told by any adults growing up about ticks.
Only reason I know it is Lyme is I took a drug they found out in 2019 that could irradicate the Lyme bacteria called Disulfiram. I self treated and after just a month being on the drug I felt much better. At the 6 month mark I was about 75% better, but I got a reaction side effect of neuropathy and had to quit.
I went through a severe depression like I never knew could exist, and all the physical pain slowly came back within a month. My family was worried I was going to take my own life. I contemplated it everyday and I still do. It's only been 2 months since I went off the treatment.
Now that I know 100% what my real issue I can finally try to tackle it. I decided to use herbal antibiotics which were proven recently to be more effect that prescription antibiotics in killing the bacteria that causes Lyme.
I always thought it was hard growing up in poverty with no father around, and a poor single mother taking care of me and my younger brother. Truth is I had it so good compared to now, and I finally realize how wrong over the years I've been about a lot of things. The most precious commodity in life is time.
That's the real deal man. There's no way to deny that unless you're just denying it to yourself. Not that I'm saying YOU are guilty of that. I know I've certainly been there to things that were right in front of me. I wish I hadn't done some foolish things. Things I would change in a heartbeat, that I have to live with.
Tomorrow isn't promised man, for anyone. God knows I have a lot to live for, but I too struggled with severe depression and almost lost my life. It's the hardest thing I faced down. But I can tell you this from my experience - Everyone goes through Hell, but not all go to Heaven. It's up to you where you want to go. You elect who to follow. Yourself, Satan, or Jesus.
It's pretty simple after that. Just uh, forgive yourself, accept the Lord and try to live every day as if it's your last chance to get it right. Time is definitely precious and none of us knows how much of it we have left to make a difference with.

I've always thought maybe those who are closest to God can have the worst lives because to test our faiths through trails. Satan already won over people who don't believe so those people are already damned. just a theory. Are you not on Discord?
