Please start watching and become enthralled by the excellent writing and storyline from Season 1 to Season 6, and then hold your nose at the generic fantasy action show it becomes in Season 7 and only watch at this point to see what horrible, horrible ending they've come up with.
Reminds me of when I was seven years old and my teacher asked us all to write a story. I got put in a quiet room with a support teacher and a few others in my class. My story was like a combination of Aladdin and the Big Friendly Giant, and the protagonist returned home at the end. The support teacher was adamant that I end the story with "I woke up, and it was all a dream," like she was a genius for thinking of it.
It's definitely going to be a fade to black at the end and then Jon sitting infront of kids, the ending being him saying "And that's how I met your mother."
