@Otus, depends, really. If someone is getting a myriad of crap piled upon them, and spilling water sets them off, it isn't really an issue of needing to 'mature'.
I think crying is a sign of strength. It's a normal emotional response and the hormones it releases are good for stress and anger relief. I wish I could still do it.
I would actually call it a sign of vulnerability. Crying places you in a state of vulnerability because it displays a weakness to those around you.
Instincts tell us that you shouldn't do that, because displaying a weakness could give others strength over you. Thus why people attribute weakness to it.
But really, how you handle that vulnerability is what determines whether it comes from a place of strength or weakness. So I guess you could say that like others said, it depends on the situation ;)
