My sister's childhood best friend died of a rare form of brain cancer almost two years ago now. Her aunt and uncle are my next door neighbours. I watched the life get sucked out of her that last summer while popping my head over the fence to say hi while they had barbecues. My aunt just won a really long battle with breast cancer a few months ago.
Screw cancer and everything it puts the affected person and their loved ones through. Your aunt's a hero for allowing those new treatments to be used on her and fighting through all that, I know it'll go on to save thousands of people. I'm sorry you lost her.
Sorry for your loss. My own aunt is a current survivor of colon cancer, but her way of living was forever changed by the illness. At least there is a silver lining for the potential to save more lives in the future.
Thank you all so much for the support, but it really has to go out to her daughter, my cousin. She's been through hell and back for all of this and i'm so glad to see so much support and won battles against this damned disease. You all are the best.
