I remember the Manchester attack very vividly. My parents grew up with terrorist attacks happening here almost everyday and my uncle and former history teacher were almost killed in one. Even with that knowledge, knowing people who got PTSD from the event and 2 who had their legs pumped with so much shrapnel they'll never walk again was surreal.
It was also really, really scary. I feared for my own friend's lives and my friend's little sister. There were police absolutely everywhere in my town the next day. Everyone knew someone who was there and that was such a horrible feeling.
Ariana came back to Manchester a few weeks later, hosted the One Love concert, and it really became this grandiose celebration of love and resilience. Thousands of people gathered at a public event incited by a terrorist attack on a public event and nobody showed any fear about it. It was an amazing gesture people here are so thankful for. On top of that girl makes great pop music. I can't think of someone in pop to respect more honestly. Basically what I'm trying to say is I agree with your sentiment lol
