I'm sorry but I think I'm missing something here. So there's gonna be another bookshop.. why does that mean you have to close down? If we only had one of everything then there'd be only one mall, one player shop, one etc.. you get the picture. Again, maybe I'm missing something?

crystaldragon13 the competition is selling OP books for 25r per book (example: his mending 25r my mending 600r)

Tbird .. there are villager trading where you can get the op books for practically nothing and people are still buying from you. I still don't see why you need to close up shop but that is a decision you have to make for your own self.

I think many people still go to you because you're most well-known

I'm late to this, but maybe don't rush to close the shop down. You can never know how active or persistent of keeping the stock up they would be. Give it a while.
