Point of disabling? Not spending time on it. Fixing them? Being able to ride skeleton horses.

They disables them cause Mojang didnt make a real way to tame those horses. So there is no original owner for those horses. So if you had one displayed in your res, someone could just ride it away if he wanted to. So... they prevented that from happening

Actually, it is the opposite. The Horses spawn pre-tamed and I believe EMC works as "You tame it, you own it." Since it was pre-tamed, it was not coded to be yours.

So why not have some way to claim the horses by either A. Egging them first instead of riding them. Or B. Having to name it before using a voucher of sorts. Seems kind of lazy to just disable a much loved feature of 1.9 Especially since this update ruined the game for a lot of people with combat and such.
