there are two kinds of mathematics
Mathematics at school, where you get teached a way to do something and have to reproduce that way over and over (wich, in my opinion, doesnt bring any joy :P)
And the fun mathematics, where you need to get an answer to something and have to look how you need to solve it ":)

I like it when the book tells me to do something and before reading on, I see all kinds of interesting things "Oh! I see how it works!" and I figured it out myself!
And in general, I like it when I get the right answer, for once :P

I remember the first time I ever had any sort of physics, suddenly I looked at everything in life with a new light, as a physics problem to be solved. How much force does his foot exert on the ground with each step? What's the strain on that board? How much torque due I need to unscrew this?
When applied, education has the potential to become quite interesting. :)

    Yes!

To me, unapplied mathematics can be really fascinating too.

What fascinates me about math is how it truly comprised and how it works. I was, and still am, one of those people that wouldn't just take a formula and plug in numbers to find the answers. Rather, I'd try to truly comprehend why what I was doing gave me the answers I got. Math can be cool but it's so much cooler when you start to understand the fundamentals of it.

Also as Hashhog said, it's simply unbelievable how much math can truly define/illustrate the physical world!

That's probably true... dyscalculia isn't really something I'd like to have...

I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. Not only do you struggle with basic concepts of math, some people form their opinions of your smartness on maths - I'm an overachiever in all subjects except maths, but people think I'm stupid because I can't do multiplications :D
