smp7 - jungle outpost

  1. Was this necessary?
Well you certainly have been demanding we bring more activity into the outpost. You seem to expect us to devote our full time to LLO. Unfortunately, not all of us can. I'm sure most of us do other things on EMC and certainly do stuff outside of minecraft. For example, I've been really backed up by homework and other real life circumstances that require dealing with before I can do anything involving minecraft. Zulu doesn't even have a computer that runs minecraft. Yet all of us members still try to do whatever we can for this outpost WHENEVER we can.
I don't think you understand how active a place can be. It's very hard to convince townies to come out to LLO, yourself included. I've found you many times in town, yet you complain that "you're the only one out there". Sorry if I've come off as harsh; I've had a long day. But the LLO isn't looking to fall any time soon, and I can guarantee you that I will stick to this outpost for as long as I can.
  2. I understand that, but rest assured the LLO welcomes you with open arms, we just like to have an idea of what goes on around the outpost so if anything were to happen or some issue were to arise, theres some form of documentation or people can reply if there could be an issue. I know back when I started out, if I hadn't checked on the thread about the spot I was building at, I would be building into an area that will house the future LLO University. Which I am really looking forward to :) Just by me checking in with people on the site, I avoided a potential conflict.

Now, I'm not trying to sound against you or anything of the sort, I just want to help you see that nobody wants you to leave, and that nobody has had any problems with anything you've done. I want to retain members as much as you would like them to be active, and that is simply what I'm attempting to do here :)

  3. I've had a very long day too, including fighting with moderators in that one thread... Also, if your implying that I haven't been going to LLO every week, then your wrong, because you aren't online every time I'm online... So If you accuse me of being a towny, then your totally wrong, in so many ways.

  4. sorry if you felt that way. I read the pages again and nobody was really attacking you.
actually I see all kinds of people answering your questions and offering support.
again it is up to you if you like the place or not. we are looking for people willing to have fun, build stuff, repair things and obviously talk a lot on the forums ;) but no leaders in a big way.

usually someone proposes something like a bridge and people get onto it, debate desings and then build it (or don'
t). same goes for the railway and other "public" stuff. and then there are lots and lots of semi-private villages / districts.
so in that way LLO has many many leaders. as said very early it kinda is an anarchy backed up by a democracy (when in doubt we vote) and the EMC-rules of course.

to make that work it is important to not get too upset easily. I know some debates can go for too long or even pretty emotional sometimes but escalating does not help that. And from my in-game experienc I know this is even more true for the in-game chat.

  5. Not accusing you of being a townie, nor of not going to LLO every week. I'm just calling your point of the other members not be active, redundant. You yourself spend time in town, so you can't expect others not doing the same. Don't expect 24/7 active-ness from the community, because it's not possible.
  6. Agreed!
LLO or even minecraft (or any game) in general should not feel like work. At least not any more than leveling up in an RPG or training aim in an FPS should.
  7. This came across as snappy:

  8. On the topic of having many members on at once, I would like you to consider where you live, and your timezone. Now, consider mine. I'm on the east coast of the USA. It is 12:50 am here, and the person I live with is snoring in the corner, which is what i'll be doing soon. What time is it where you're at? and what time do you play minecraft on average?

EDIT: sorry for the double post

  9. To me that sounds like a challenge, with a sprinkle of encouragement :p. and while the LLO would be fairly hard to reproduce, since it was pretty much an experiment turned into a chain of events and community effort that became the now great LLO. But anything is possible, and nothing can go wrong with trying.

EDIT: ignore edit above, this was the double post. Im tired :p

  10. It is kinda snappy but also just true.
Also it was a reply to a pretty snappy comment of your own:

So as a response to the suggestion of starting a new LLO because the current LLO, which we enjoy has failed and going for your "epic" idea of making a new one this response feels not that snappy to me...

  11. Not to mention even you said yourself it was a longshot idea..

  12. Exactly. Esp. since it was a reply to the exact idea (making an new LLO).
Nobody is against that. Just don't do it at the same place or too close to it.
EMC is big enough to not have to risk future problems between wild outposts. We are not a PVP server where setting up conflicts is part of the fun.

  13. I don't believe that is snappy. I mainly said that due to the fact that parts of LLO are in tough shape, and in desperate times not worth repairing,

  14. It was a crazy idea, it didn't even have to be another LLO (because technically any wild outposts s practically LLO)

  15. If you can find us another wild jungle outpost as large and community built/driven as this one, with its own website and 630 page long thread, then that claim *may* be somewhat true. But for now, I'm gonna go with my favorite saying IRL.

Argument Invalid, Please Try Again Later
  16. Is snappy good or bad? I hope its good.
  17. That is not true.
Esp with the new rules it is really easy to establish and protect a new outpost. And it can be something completly different from the LLO. There are several other outposts even on smp7 that have nothing to do with the LLO.

Anyway. I think you got the idea and again nobody meant to attack you. If you decide to leave that is your thing and as we explained the EMC has loads of other options. If you want to stay feel welcome but maybe assume we do not want to attack you when we explain how things work here.
  18. depends on the recipient usually, so in this case it's kinda meh

  19. I have decided to leave LLO. Whether I am leaving on good or bad terms is for you to decide. Good luck.

  20. After all the debating I felt the need to bump / repost some juicy chunky render and
the map again. Just for perspective.
