(Suggestion) For god sake, can we stop with changing the spawn rates.

  1. Ok, well, I think that Ill just add that when I used to go slime hunting (like 1-2 months ago), I was just fine for like 15 MC days (then I went back), and all I was carrying were 8 stone swords, a stack of melons, and the slime I collected. And I was really just fighting all mobs I saw, at ground lvl, so not in a cave or anything, every MC night in a slime chunk. It really wasnt that hard. In fact, it was rather easy and I wouldnt rly mind if the spawn rate was raised a little bit. (I got so much slime) :p

  2. I think you're over reacting. It's called survival For a reason. Yeah, it seems lame at first, but think about it. Faster grinding, more withers to kill and skulls to sell, It's pros and cons seems to even out, and then there's the fact you're basically playing on a higher level.

  3. I've made two other forums about this, and they were ignored.

  4. Most likely, they were not ignored, they simply werent bumped enough and were unnoticed by Aikar or any other mods. Unnoticed and ignored, 2 very different words (I mean, 1 starts with a 'd', and the other starts with a 'u', theyre practically on opposite sides of the alphabet) XD

  6. I don't think it's been brought up... What if we had high spawn rates in the wastelands for people who want a challenge, and lower spawn rates in /wild?

  7. Actually, Aikar has messed with monster spawns and all that before. Yes it's called survival, but we shouldn't get annoyed that it takes forever to build our house in the wild because of 30 cats, repeated creeper explosions, skeletons and raining spiders even WITH the area lit up. It's a pain to have to dig a hole to hide in every what feels like 2 seconds, to hide from stuff. If you haven't read through the thread, the mobs seem to spawn everywhere but IN the grinders.

  8. As I said, it looks like we're going back to the stage where come nightfall, you either go on the defensive or just hide in a hole.

  11. The amount of mobs in the wilderness at night is insane, I was mining sand and within about 30 seconds I had the best part of 20 monsters on me, Even my super-suit was struggling to keep up with the damage.

  12. I play normal difficulty in my solo map and the mob rate is nowhere near as high as this. It's manageable this way, but perhaps creeper and ocelot mobs could be reduced, particularly the ocelots because the jungles are like an infestation.
  13. If I'm right in thinking, the fact that mob spawns are now only, what, within 50 blocks of the Player, (I think?) means that you will get more mobs spawning on you.

Daylight for working / travelling, night for hiding and wetting yourself.

  14. Well i cant speak for every one here, But i think the wild is to easy atm.

Now to begin with i live in the wild and not only that but i run and manage to an extent 2 other citys ontop of my own and quite offten go out in the wild and endure the 1 hour walk from my wild city to emc town.

Now no i dont hide at night i keep on going and i dont adventure with diamond enchanted gear i save that for the mob arena. I go out with a sword and iron armor. beawear of your surroundings and know and use them to your advantage

skeleton: Line of sight him " hide behind a tree, turn a corner" make it come to you

    always take the high ground

creeper " you can fist him death if needed" smake him and back up even your fisy causes a small knock back

if you people think the wild is bad now i guess my shop well make more money when it hits normal

  15. Apparently it's behaving differently for everyone. SMP7 LLO I remember right after Aikar messed with it and we had Ghastacolypse I spent all my time inside because it seemed that as soon as I stepped outside it suddenly turned dark and I got swarmed with creepers even though we were going through and used thousands of torches to light stuff up. We had a kid living in a ravine that we helped turn into a house. We had it all lit up and they still rained down on him. I could walk outside and immediately get swarmed with crap.

After the mob spawns were messed with again later, my sister, sonicol1 and I went out mining. We were doing pretty well, only one or two zombies. Then suddenly we started having creepers spawn and immediately explode on us but not blow anything else up.

Months later when I joined Pazzo it took me two tries just to get there. The first I was headed through the wild, killing what few I could and then at one point was mobbed by 4 skeles and several zombies. I died and headed back out later after I rage quit. On the way I had to stop every time I saw a group of mobs, just to make sure I didn't die. Once there to Pazzo we kept everything lit up and rarely had mobs, just spiders raining down on me.

A couple weeks ago I decided that I was going to join a friend in the wild on SMP8. Get out there and work on building my house, had the area lit up and there were tons of cats, which I had no issue with, but I still had 6 or 7 creepers sneak up and blow me up, several skeletons come up, several spiders. I was constantly having to hide. I kept getting fed up and it took me forever to build my house.
  16. i go out in wild all the time and never carry more then a stone sword and leather armor, pay attention to your surroundings and you will never need a torch loligag in one area and you are going to be surrounded but heres the trick: just log out when you come back there will be less mobs and potientially an easier way through them
  17. Why does it always seem like people have legitimate complaints and post about them yet we have people come in and are all "LOLIHAZNOISSUESYOUSTUPIDNOOB!" ?

I guess the next time anyone has an issue we'll just deal with it and not post about it.

  18. [please note this is not pointed any one in this thread or out side but my view in general]

Normaly when people make a complaint like this its because they infact think its to hard and want something nerfed. This can be avoid if they simple pay attention and maybe to a little prep work.

this can be view in many way but to this thread its " WILD WHY YOU SO HARD ".

    1. pay attention to your surroundings

    2. you can survive with the basics " you dont need god gear for the wild"

3.0. Do prep. " know where your going, how to get there, what you want and when you want to embark"

3.1. [if going on a exploration adventure then bring better stuff and plan on longer strides of time with out protection]

But back to my view on this. In large communities such as EMC you get the Good/bad and the ugly
assortment of players. They can fine tune the server to suit every ones needs and they make it a fine line between both. There is a method to their madness which is why you encounter different spawning activities in different enviroments. There are many factors " how players are loading the chunk/chuncks, light level etc. During the coding phase yes there were issues which i would like to say have been sorted out since then

Say what you must about me or my thought by they are just that mine and my view. and i think if every one took the time to do the prep before going into the wild then we wouldnt have threads pop up like this

TLDR: they cant make every one happy. So Adept to what you plung yourself into.
  19. If mobs would actually walk around, then they wouldnt need to have ridiculously high spawning rates directly around the player. Once again, why not lower the spawning rates, and make them walk/wonder.
