[HELP] Might lose my account, help!

  1. Howdy yall,
Minecraft is trying to make me migrate my account now. Just one issue; I cannot access the email or transaction ID (the two forms of verification accepted). The email does not exist anymore and is not possible to be made again (verizon email, got deleted during the move to aol and you can't make new ones, I even called and tried), and the transaction ID was on that email account and on a card that no longer exists, nor can I access the records of.
I tried talking to support and they said without those things, they can't do anything (although they seemed useless and half the support links they sent me were outdated anyway). I even tried writing a script to brute force the verification codes from the email but I was getting 429s after only like 20 requests in 30 seconds (code is 7 digits so I would need to try 10 mil, also the code times out it seems).

Am I just boned? If anyone has any ideas at all I will take them because I do not want to lose this account after 10+ years :(
  2. I had this issue with an alt account. I got a new account and EMC transferred ownership of residence to the new one. I can't remember exactly what did and did not transfer - res ownership definitely did, rupees and tokens too I think. Voter bonus did not. (Thank you staff! I bought a diamond voucher in appreciation.)
  3. This won't work but can u change ur email on the mojang side then migrate?
  4. Aww, I'm very sorry about that. Dang that really sucks, I wish I could help you out, but I really don't know what you can do if you can't prove (ownership) that it's yours. That's like their cutoff of helping their loyal players... their customer support is horrid.

Even if you no longer have the old email, and the transaction ID was lost inside it, we should still be given an opportunity to at least provide our erased email address. Surely there are records of that account being linked to said email, but I don't know how their system works. Guess it would still run into a wall though. They still wouldn't know if it really was you trying to gain access. This is why it's so crucial to print your receipts, even if you think you won't ever need them.

One would think for it to be legal; They'd have to keep their own records of all these transactions, but clearly, it's in doubt or simply they're not willing to track it due to the high volume of accounts. But again, proof of ownership issues...

I understand you'd want to do everything possible to avoid the loss, but there's really not much you can do at this point, but if you are able to transfer your things over to a new account that's got to be better than starting over with nothing right? :(

I wish you the best outcome whatever happens!
  5. It appears that I will also find myself in the same situation with one of my alt's.

I believe my transaction ID was lost due to my email being deleted without my consent, therefore I lost tons of digital records I saved from years ago.

Ever since, I made sure to make backup copies of all my accounts just in case. Kinda transformed into a habit too, I keep everything important backed up on paper for safe keeping now. It's the way to go. :+1:

It sucks though. I hate their "legal" way of stealing licenses we paid for. It just isn't right... but what do ya do?
  6. You should try to log in regularity, then change email address accossited with account with vailid ones, like gmail

  7. Sadly, there's not much you can do :/

I was in the same situation with an old yahoo email until recently when I finally did manage to regain access.

Prior to that I had tried all avenues with customer support, to no avail. So given the specific circumstances you have, I'm guessing there's not much else you can do. Even if you did brute force the verification code, I'm pretty sure during the migration it sends an email to the account that you must click to start the process.

So, at this point, just make some heads and signatures from ExtendingSkys

  8. Not sure if you've tried this already, but I had a similar situation with one of my alts. What saved me was you can change the email address on a Mojang account without having access to the old email provided you have security questions set. So I changed the email and then migrated using the new email.
