Ever need a nether star but don't want to fight the Wither? Aren't end game enough, but really want a beacon? Well now you can kill the Wither without the challenge! Just follow my easy steps to kill the Wither, while it's trapped (Disclaimer: I'm assuming there are some of you who already know this technic) Step 1: Get 3 Wither Skulls and 4 Soul Sand per Wither you want to kill Step 2: Go to the Nether, and start to stair up to the roof Step 3: Dig around until you can find a 3x3 of bedrock like this http://imgur.com/a/dhigK Step 4: Create the Wither on it's side like this http://imgur.com/a/DoE9o Make sure that the 'foot' of the wither is under the middle of the 3x3 One final thing, make sure your Difficulty is turned down to 1, otherwise you can't hurt the Wither since it's trapped EDIT: The image code wasn't working, so I just put the links
Nether ceiling is generated equally on all worlds(is not dependent on seed) so you can google wither killing areas to find many spreadsheets with all 3x3 areas
This method doesn't work, as the wither does not have a clear line of sight on you, and because this is EMC, it therefore resists the attacks.
I have a public kill chamber all set up with instructions on smp2 go To /nwaste NE head south it's right at spawn. I also have a kill chamber at my outpost with all 6 beacons at level 2. That 1 is AWESOME!!!
My Chambers work just fine and yes diff 1 or diff 10 does not make a difference in drops so why kill yourself? Do Diff 1 and smite 5 sword. Sachrock has killed over 100 withers in my chambers. I always make a new one on smp2 when the waste resets. These do work and yes you do need to be in line of sight of wither. No issues with my builds.
Just did this safely on SMP5 at -96, 80 in the frontier nether. This site: https://sixsins.github.io/3x3/ has a calculator that can let you know the nearest safe wither kill spot near you, while this video explains how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx4I2zz_6do Every nether in single player and multiplayer (I imagine in the frontier but unknown in the wastelands) have the same nether ceiling so any of the coordinates listed will work. Just make the wither on it's side on top of a block, step back a couple blocks, let it suffocate with the occasional hit from you and congrats, nether star. As mentioned above, this worked just fine on difficulty 3 for me.
