?

Should this be added to the game, and how much should it cost?

  1. This is park2013 with an idea.
So, what will happen is that whenever someone has, say, 1,000 tokens, they can Soulbound it at the online store, or they can go to the server shop and purchase it there. Here are some examples of Soulbound items, and what I think the sign would look like in-game. Soulbound -Diamond Sword.png Soulbound - Bow.png Soulbound - Sign.png
  2. Sounds like Tokens would actually have a regular use :)
    +1
  3. Haha, I actually though of this same thing this morning, but I had forgotten about it until I saw this! I like the idea. What I was thinking is that you could pay...maybe 30k tokens for an item (Soulbounder? Maybe a more creative name :p ) and that item could be used to make certain other thing soulbound, but would have a limit to maybe 1 soulbound item a week. This could have some problems though, I think you idea would work better ;)

  4. I like this idea. I have a lot of tokens and a lot of gear i dont want to lose in the wastelands. +1

  5. Im hoping it gets implemented.
  6. I say no for now, you could soulbound all the tools you would ever need for barely any tokens. If it were to add the "Final" modifier, then it would be more reasonable.
  7. I was about to say this.

All soulbound items should have the final modifier just to make it that much more rare.
  8. I don't agree with this. If it were to be implemented, even 1000 tokens is pretty cheap imho
  9. Why would you not want to repair your item
  10. I think thats how it would keep things balanced

  11. Because you're giving it the extreme effect of never losing it. So take the risk of never losing it, or being able to repair it =P
  12. I like the idea, also because I've had the same thought a few times. For example when looking at my clock (I always have a clock with me) or some of my tools. Would be cool if you could soulbound that.

However, the major risk (others beat me to it) is that it could seriously unbalance the game pretty quick. At least I think so.

But there's an even bigger problem: if you could "just" soulbound stuff such as weapons then this would seriously undermine the voting gear and the attached temptation on players to vote for our server. Why take 5 minutes to vote every day if you just can play for 3 days (fictional example) and get your stuff soulbound?

Looking at the idea within that context I think this would work extremely counter productive for EMC.

Doesn't mean I don't like your idea of course, I do. But not for weapons and armor. I think they should apply a filter so that you can only soulbound other, also useful, items. For example: a clock, an (ender) chest, food items, a crafting table, a furnace, etc. Just not weapons & armor.

  13. That could be added to the thing, but - heres the catch.
Someone could pay 500,000r to unfinal it. How about that?!
  14. I defiantly agree with you, and if someone was to Soulbound a weapon, like a sword, or amour, it would have to be purchased on the store for $3 USD. It would be a game pass, and would allow user to pick one weapon from their inventory to Soulbound, therefore, balancing the game, and allowing the server a profit amongst this.
  15. It doesn't necessarily have to be only 1000 tokens. I was thinking more along the lines of 10,000+

  16. I dont think that making people pay USD to be able to make soulbound items is a good idea but I liked the idea of using tokens.

  17. I say nay. This is because it defeats the purpose of what the wastelands are, I think it would just make the places more ugly and not good for players who are just starting. I think that maybe, if this were a thing, it should cost a LOT more than what you are saying it should be.

  18. Make it 2,000,000r and much more in tokens and I will be for it.

  19. I don't think I would trade the ability to repair a pick indefinitely and maybe lose it like I have now, for only being able to use it until it wore out once and being guaranteed to lose it.
