Issue with bed spawn

I keep getting this message: 'Your home bed was missing or obstructed'.

But it's not missing or obstructed so when I die why would I not be tp'd to this bed? Instead I'm tp'd to a town spawn. Is this a bug? What are the requirements for a successful bed spawn location?

2 blocks away from all sides of a wall, it's well lit... I don't see what the problem is. Can anyone help?

Possibly when you spawn, you do so on a block next to the Bed. Try replacing the slabs around the Bed and see what happens.

Thanks I will give that a try. When I had my bed at my base this was never an issue. Even when I go to The End it would work, now nothing does.

I've changed the stacked slabs for full blocks. Will see if that helps.

The obstruction seems to be that the bed is in the air. I do not have issues when I place my bed at the same level as the half slabs so that the bed is flush with the slabs as long as there is a ground layer under the slabs as they are semi-transparent in a sense. So put like dirt or something under the slabs around the bed and drop it to where the bed and slabs are flush and it should work fine.

I have also had this problem, I think it is because it does not detect a solid block adjacent to the bed. Just make sure the bed has a solid block beside, maybe replace 1 slab beside the bed

I changed out all the blocks for full blocks and tested it out this morning. Works now lol
