Yep, you know it

You can talk to this so thing robot, and get a bit silly with it if you wanted
But its not 'clever' as you think.
Here is a conversation I had: (This is what really happened)

Me: Hello
Robot: Hello is not a question stupid so stop!!
Me: Oh my...harsh
Robot: I have not slept in 2 days
Me: Good for you
Robot: It is good for me

So he said not sleeping Is good for him?

He only really replies to your last sentence I find, so that is really just coincidence

You do realize that apps/sites like that aren't 'robots' and you are getting replies that are from other random people who also use the site? It stores answers that they receive and then uses it to answer any questions you have for it (which is why it produces some weird answers). This is also why you get asked questions occasionally within the conversation, so it can get more data to improve itself.

PARENTAL ADVICE - whatever it says, visitors never talk to a human - the AI knows many topics - use ONLY WITH OVERSIGHT (This is what it says on the site.)

You're both right. Cleverbot is indeed a program that talks with you, but it has learnt from the visitors. It's programmed to learn.
