I live East Coast US -5:00 PDT I think, and aroun 7:00 AM the last few days, my ping shoots up to around 2k and slows down all my other things like music and net browsing. When I exit Empire Minecraft's server, my ping goes back down. I don't know what to do, am I the only one having issues like this?
With further experimentation, I discovered that my lag comes whenever I enter the Wilderness, which kinda blows 'cuz I can't gather resources during the day anymore.
Most of the time I've ever discovered ping soaring like that is when there are massive amount of entities, such as a spawning system (or grinder)... On the off chance, it could also be a redstone system (but that only takes you down usually about 30-50 fps for every device) Stone gens cause a 'huge' chunk update ... normally around 200-1000 for each massive stone gen device ----- Do you know if there is anything like this nearby? Maybe something is constantly going or you're near a grinder?
At first I thought it was because I changed my difficult from 7 to 8, but then I realized this lag happened yesterday.
If it only happens in a particular world... hmm I might suggest you try going to a different outpost if you can - that way you aren't near one of the spawns of that world... then it might go closer to normal for you
