  1. For those of you who don't know what this is:

this is the first room to the old tutorial test maze. this is what was used when I joined for new members. I think that this should be used again because it was a great way to introduce new players to the wiki and forums and made people learn the rules and how the server worked. I see a lot of new players joining and asking what to do, if they had done this, they would know what happens. It would be great to use this again so that new players would be more knowledgeable of the rules.

  2. I remember that place... I remember the tutorial viewing area, that was under the old Empire shop. It was always fun watching people go through the tutorial...

  3. I remember joining and walking through the tutorial. There was 1 other person in there too, can't remember who, but I wonder if they are famous in some sort of way in Empire Minecraft now

  4. It would help... but I trust the build team/staff to come up with something better.

  5. It was a nice tutorial and in fact the one I used to gain entry to EMC, however the build team are going to be turning their heads to making a new tutorial that is nice on both the inside and out and should be really effective for new members :) It is only a matter of time and there are lots of projects on right now so it may take a little while but eventually a much more efficient tutorial will be in place to help new members :D
  6. well this screenshot was taken there today cause the viewing area is still there.
  7. I remember that! I spent forever trying to go through it and almost quit before I finished. It's a good thing I didn't because EMC has been the best minecraft experience I have ever had. :)
  8. I don't think it should be 'used' as the tutorial again, however it would be great to be kept around in the same area so we could visit it from time to time.

  9. I remember that place! The memories. I remember how funny it was when you got something wrong and you had to run back, still a great place though.
  10. The problem with that is most people didnt read the signs properly, and just ran through each one hoping it was correct.
when i first joined on my old account I was 7 years old, took me a hour because i kept sprinting into walls ,-,
  11. That was pretty annoying for me because when I joined my frame-rate dropped massively while I was in there >.> (I blame all the chickens that used to be everywhere, and the fact that my laptop was slowly dying and eventually went out on me about 9 months after I joined :p.)

  12. This is the main reason it's not in use anymore.
The players that did stay and make it through were reasonably well-versed on the rules, but a fair chunk of them got frustrated, didn't read, and just gave up. I'm not entirely convinced that's a bad thing, personally, but in the interest of 'growing the Empire,' it was decided we need something with a higher retention rate.

  13. But, a lot of the people quit during the tutorial. Now with the new tutorial, and at the moment the placeholder tutorial, much less people quit during the tutorial. I admit that the placeholder tutorial may not be that good, but with the new (I mean the one before the placeholder) tutorial you actually learnt something and more people stayed than in the original tutorial.

  14. Yeah, that was actually a really good system, I thought. I forget what the reasoning behind dropping it was, other than "people didn't realize they were in the tutorial." Which you'd think a chat messaage Welcome to the EMC Tutorial would be easy enough to fix.

  15. How could I forget... took me 30 minutes to complete that thing.
  16. anything is better than the current tutorial, especially how it was supposed to be "temporary" and has still been used for so long.
