  1. I've got a shop database from the shop contest, want it?
  2. Everyone should put a link to their shop page and/or the main emcshops page in their signature (like some people have already done). That'll at least help a little.
  3. raenis how do you add that "I'm listed!" achievement to your signature?
  4. http://mag.racked.eu
  5. I could at least use it to contact the folks from the shop contest about adding their shops. So that would be cool. They'd still need to add the shops themselves, of course.
  6. Wooooooo I got it. I just copied the URL from raenis's though. I was having a problem because it wouldn't let me add a line break to my signature. But you can add line breaks if you edit the BBCode so that's what I did.

  7. Well, i could make the shop for them, in case they don't want to do that 'hard work' thing is i have to visit all the shops and take screenshots, so a bit of help for you could come from me :)
    100+ applications i got already :p
  8. Just out of curiousity, what would happen if someone leaves EMC, their shop / lot goes derelict and eventually reclaimed and then claimed by someone else who wants to add their store to the database but the old one is still there? Would they have to contact you to have the old one removed, or would it expire if not updated for a while?
  9. It would expire if the owner of the shop didn't login the database
  10. I'll probably work into the dereliction script a check to see if it hasn't been updated in 25+ days and delete the listing altogether.
  11. What if I keep my stock at a relatively consistent level, and don't need to update the listing? (or is it the res itself?)
  12. Well, part of the point of the quick-edit link that you're given when you create/edit a shop is to allow you to "update" your shop without much work. As soon as you login to your shop's edit page, either through the website or by using your link, it automatically updates your last update time. So you don't actually have to make any changes to update your time. Kinda like logging into EMC. There's no amount of play time required to reset the derelict counter. Just logging in will suffice.

So a good habit would be to simply bookmark your quick-edit link and open it once a day to keep your shop updated. If your stock levels are stable, leave it at that, and if you need to make changes, it's ready to accept them. :D
  13. Ahhh, thanks for the clarification. :D
  14. Okay, I asked.

Furthermore, I think it's about time I hunted down the new images for planks and sandstone, as well as adding the various additional colors for discs. Work ahoy!
  15. All 1.2.4 item images added and choices updated in the edit pages. I also went through and altered all the shops that listed "Wood Planks" to "Oak Planks" since before 1.2.4 all planks used the oak plank texture and remained that way after the update.
  16. *Applauds heartily*

Well done that man, well done. :)

P.S - Ask for sticky for the thread. I did for my one. :)
  17. just another suggestion, would it be possible to add bbcode to the shop description so we could format it a bit better, maybe change colours and have lists and so on? I tried with html, but I see that gets stripped, I guess for security reasons :)
  18. I noticed also it makes your shop move to the top of the list - not sure if this is a good thing or not, I could imagine people logging in every few minutes to bump their store lol.
  19. I did that originally with the idea that what's at the top of the listing is clearly the most up to date with its information, hopefully including stock levels and the like. I could make it to where it won't top-bump you if your last update time was less than an hour ago. Should level it out a bit. I mean, if someone wants to set an egg timer for an hour just to remember to bump their shop, I suppose they could be given that for the effort. What do you think?

Just saw this. I could look into adding bb-code to it. It -should- leave bbcode tags alone when it runs through strip_tags. You're right though. They're stripped for security. It can be easy to break a php script maliciously if you let people run willy-nilly. Heh. Willy-nilly.
  20. If all you need to do is load a website to bump your shop (using the edit shop link), it would be very easy to automate, I could set up a cron job with wget to run every hour and forget about it. I was more concerned about the possible abuse of people setting up an automated task to run every second to ensure always being at the top but at the cost of your web server.

What about instead having user defined sorting, like the little up and down arrows on the table headers, allowing you to chose which field to sort through - you could add a time-stamp of the last update to the table to support most recent update.

I didn't know you could put php tags into a variable, I assumed it was just because people might leave tags unclosed causing the webpage to display wrong.

Adding bbcode might make the summary line a bit weird, I was thinking, what about letting people set their own summary line, and just using the first X characters of the description (like it does now) as a fallback.

Anyway, I'm just throwing out ideas :)
