[Closed] Withers

I do not think Withers should despawn from a disconnect.

Here is the story. My and my brother were fighting the wither brand new heads (I payed 6.6k for em) We were both close to death so we disconnected simultaneously. We reconnect and he's gone. I feel that since minibosses don't despawn, nor should withers.
EDIT: Since this was a bug that caused me to loose 6.6k, I feel I should get a refund. Plese tell me if this is completely wrong, but still.

It is well known that withers will despawn on EMC. I suggest bringing apples next time.

Well it sucks that that happened, but you definitely shouldn't get a refund due to your inability to prepare for the fight...

No. It is better to expect people to be able to defeat one before logging out rather than worrying about someone logging in to get a violent surprise. I also don't think the "disconnect" strategy should be encouraged.

I think disconnecting in the middle of a fight is per say not really a good thing to do. Not when you after that want to continue fighting in each case.

Maybe a 15 min despawn timer like dropped items?

There is a problem with letting withers not despawn. Say someone goes to your base, spawns a wither then goes away. You log in and the wither starts destroying your base and you die, your base destroyed.

Withers also cant be nametagged because you can abuse them for stone and food farms. Ive talked to other mods about this and they have explained it to me of how bad it would be if withers didnt despawn.

Agreed. It could EASILY be used as a teamgriefing tool.

This means that anybody could simply disconnect as they were about to die and wait for the wither to move.

In real war, can you 'Disconnect' and hope that the enemy will not kill you? Hell no.

But... That's the case like it is right now. Right now, when you disconnect, it does despawn. And Ethy is suggesting to have them not despawn. So I'm not sure what you're -1'ing right now..

Lol you are completely misunderstanding tech, as he is saying that IF this was implemented, that's (This means that anybody could simply disconnect as they were about to die and wait for the wither to move) what it would be like, which is unrealistic. He thinks that it would be a bad idea, see what he said about real wars. Therefore his vote is -1. I don't even understand what you're trying to say... I mean he clearly says he doesn't agree with this idea and you're just stating the obvious.
