Upgrading my computer

  1. Hello all!

I want to upgrade my computer, but it can't cost alot.
My budget is around 150 euro, and i want to improve it alot, with my small budget :p
    I live in the Netherlands.

What do you need to know? I'll tell everything you need to know :)

    What i don't want:
    Other OS
    Other Case
    Other Harddrive

    Thanks :)
  2. Main uses for computer:
Current specs: (processor, RAM, memory, Graphics, etc.)
    Laptop or PC:
Any other info about your current computer than might possibly be relevant:
  3. Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, build 6002) Don't blame on me about using Vista :p
    RAM: 3GB
    Swap file: 6373MB
    Graphics card: Radeon X1300/1550 Series

    It's a PC.
    I have two screens.
My 'gaming' screen is 15 inch and 75Hz, my other is 19 inch and 60Hz. Both resolution is 1024 x 768, 32 bit.
It's a DELL, 6-7 years old, second owner (I don't know :p), Not self made, only thing modified is extra RAM.
It has no speakers inside it and also no wireless internet.

    What i don't want:
    Other OS
    Other Case
    Other Harddrive

I'll soon post a picture of it inside.
  4. Can you find info about what Mother Board you have in it? Try to find a model number on the case, and then Google from there.
  5. Ok, I'll try to, thanks.
  6. That is pretty old. If you want to increase your CPU performance, you could always get a better CPU fan and try overclocking it a bit.
  7. How can I see what lags my comouter the most? (Not that it lags. :))
  8. Check your task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del) and go to processes. There you can view a list of all processes and how much memory/etc is being used by those processes.
  9. Thanks, I'll do that tomorrow. :)
  10. Faster Command:
    [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Esc]

This makes task manager come up immediately, instead of going to the windows security screen.
  11. This is useful information. Thanks!
    TomvanWijnen and eklektoi like this.
  12. No problemo :)
  13. Had a really busy school week, so I haven't done it yet, but I'll hopefully do it tomorrow.
