What could this be?

  1. Nope, this isn't a "I need help" thread. I'm wondering what this pain is.

November 2010: I developed a pain in my left side, and halfway through the month it spread to my right side. It was a sharp pain every now and then, but it didn't bother me very much.

December 2010: The pain is very bad. It's so bad I had to stay off school twice because of it, and at one point I overdosed on painkillers. I went to the doctors, she had no idea what it was, and then the pain left for a few weeks. It came back a few days after christmas.

January 2011: The pain felt like I was being stabbed in the side, and the pain would come every few minutes. The last 2 weeks of the month I was bed-ridden most of the time, throwing up, sleeping alot, and the doctors still didn't know what it was.

February 2011: The pain died down a little bit, and I had a blood test for diabetes. I came back negative, and the pain...left.

April 2011: The pain came back, not very bad though, and it was still in one side.

August 2011: The pain comes back in my left side (my right side was first this time).

January 2012: I was complaining about the pain every now and then, but if I just popped a painkiller it would be gone for a few days.

November 2012: The pain worsens. It feels like a jab in the side, and they became really sensitive to touch.

January 2013: Tonsillitis was getting at me through most of the month, and the pain had gotton slightly worse. Then, at the end of the month, it snowed. Staying out in the cold would make the side very sensitive, but it didn't really irk me.

February 2013: The pain had begun to get worse, and my faeces *disturbing, I know* weren't developing properly. It would take a week for me to go to the toilet. This stopped at the end of the month.

March 2013: Today, the pain left me keeling over in class, feeling like I was going to throw up, and whenever I was walking I was extremely light-headed. When I got home, I just flunked down on my bed for about 20 minutes, then I went to the toilet, sat in the living room for a little while, and then went onto my laptop. I hate taking painkillers, so i'm not going to take any. Oh, and to top that, my leg really hurts when I walk and the other day I collapsed in school because it caved in.

Do you guys have any idea what the pain could be? It also makes my rib seem to rub against my illium, which hurts both bones.

  2. Also, i've tried googling it and have found nothing :(
  3. Depending on where it is on your sides and if it's lower down and towards your back a little more it could be a kidney problem
  4. When was the last time you saw a doctor about it? Seems very strange though, unfortunately I can not help, as I am no medical expert :p Edit- Like everyone else has said it could be kidney stones, my friend had them and he was in pain for a while I think he had to pee them out (gross i know) Although if it was a kidney stone then you're doctor should have picked up on it.
  5. Kidney stones?
  6. I definitely feel like no one here is qualified to answer this, if the doctor doesn't know what it is, then you need to see a different doctor and get a second opinion.

  7. Mum's had them before, and recently just got them took out. My 'episodes', as she calls them, are similar to hers. I looked up on kidney stone symptoms when I first had the pains, and I matched a few of them. Now I match a couple more, but last time I seen a doctor they said I could just be having bowel spasms.
Beginning of 2011.... I seen the hospital about it in Feb 2011.

I just really want these pains gone. They hurt so much and make me feel really ill.
  8. My mum is a nurse and so is my nan. They both said they don't know what it is and my friend's mum is a doctor, and even she said she doesn't know what it is.
  9. You definitely need to see another doctor then if you haven't seen one for almost 2 years! Check out my edit of my post
  10. Feeling really dizzy, light-headed, tired, and I just been sick in my mouth and I keep burping.
The burps taste of sick and pepporini pizza...
  11. Your appendix could have something too do with it. Is it your left lower Side?

Oh appendix pains start on left and move to lower right
  12. You need more green veggies, more fiber. Basically when you don't eat enough leafy greens everything sticks to the sides of your large intestine like a paste and clogs it...also look at positioning of large intestine, runs up right side, underneath ribs and down left side to the butt...can explain why pain was on one side or the other before it was both sides...or take an enema, it's a liquid that gets shot up your butt and basically dissolves everything in your intestine, the only problem is with how clogged it sounds like you are, you'll probably have diarrhea for a good couple of hours so get a good book...
  13. Thanks for those thoughts...

  14. ^ hi Kirby :D
  15. Is the pain emanating from a bone or joint? It could be arthritis. I also plugged this data into webmd and it says the likely culprits are gastritis, gastroenteritis, intestinal ischemia, or giardiasis.

Edit: It also suggests cancer, you should get checked
  16. Oooooh this happens to me too!!! It's just the growing of lungs, don't worry; though I don't feel so bad, it's just 4 or 5 seconds of horrible pain and then it's gone.
  17. I had this for a while and then it went away.... Like last year

  18. i had this SAME problem... i went to the docter after about a months time after having experienced it, my docter had the same thing when he was younger.its something your body develops to tell you a few things:
    • 1. your not getting enough exercise
    • 2. depression is taking a serious toll on your body
    • 3. your not getting enough sunlight ( some vitamin i forgot the letter )
these were the 3 things he told me. my problem went away after i started going outside, just left me sore for the first few days.
i honestly cant tell you what you should do or could do, just give advice because i dont have a medical license.
  19. Yeah, I didn't know what it was :)

  20. If that's the case, my lungs have been growing for three years.

Nah, I get this but mine is something totally different. Just to be on the safe side I would go to the doctor and get all the worst possibilities checked out and crossed off the list, narrow down what is wrong.
