  1. It would, if people would actually do it. But people dont do that, even after asked to. If it were strictly followed, that would be wonderful! But even in the auction section, people dont always put in [AUCTION], yet they almost always put it in the correct forum category, which is why i think a new category would be more effective.
  2. Like some other said, no one is pointing a gun to your head and forcing you to read and commet on religous threads/posts. It IS your decision if you post or not
  3. But its not always about replying. Its the topic at hand. If i have a severe fear of dogs, and i go into a thread named "Cute!:D" and i see a dog, thats all i need to trigger a reaction in my brain. Religion and Atheism both are extreme topics, and create the most extreme of reactions in people.

  4. The news channels don't make you subscribe to view their religious news so why should EMC require a subscription to see religious threads. Being tolerant of other people's views means not freaking out at someone when you see something that doesnt follow your own beliefs.

  5. No because everyone else is protestant and I'm catholic and I wouldn't like talking about religion >: U
  6. What? So you're saying that the Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and loads of other religions now dont exist?

  7. I wasn't saying that, obviously.
  8. What are you saying then?
  9. I saw a topic which one doesn't expect it to be a religious thread.
I really hate having these sort of Religion threads as I'm Atheist for now(I'm not choosing a religion because my parents are apart of one) I might once I've grown mature.

Seeing a thread Saying such things about something that's possibly fake encourages you to prove such player wrong. I'm unsure on how to explain it but it's annoying for me.

Maybe having some sort of tag [Religion] or whatsoever so you know how to avoid it. Instead of seeing threads " I feel in love" (example) and clinking it thinking it's something else and saying things that doesn't make you feel confortable/mad/etc and wanting to prove such player wrong.

Having these sorts of threads without anything it's about such thing just no... Sure, allow them just make them noticeable that they're about religion so you know when to avoid such threads.

@#$^@#^&@#$&^#$&#%$% I don't really know what to write, I'll just get off on this thread. When I get angry I can't express what I'm trying to say.

  10. I hate to break it to you, but Atheistism IS a religon

  11. It's a religion where you can believe we're just here for some magical reason, or you can go the skeptic route - the scientific version.
BOTH forms are a rejection of religion.
  12. It is actually a Rejection of Religion,
  13. The media is pure controversy, its a big part of how they keep their viewers. If i may request it, i would like a different example, since EMC doesnt use religious topics to their advantage.
I have seen very little freaking out, and most of the deleted comments (that i have seen) were not meant to be rude. Being tolerant also applies to peoples opinions. Many people dont want religion on EMC at all. But they are trying to be tolerant and so they ask those who makes religious threads to provide warnings or labels on the threads. Whenever they make this request, their posts are deleted and a mod stamps commandment #6 onto the thread. Its unjust in my eyes, because only the (what would socially be called the more fragile) minority is being heard. Compromise is wanted. Just compromise. And right now, there is no compromise being made. The only people who are having their "rights" defended are the religious minority. Why? I have no clue. But there should at least be a label like Jack mentioned. If this comes of as hostile, please feel free to edit it to make it nonhostile. I, and many others, are just frustrated with what seems like an unbalanced system. We know that you guys of course dont mean for it to be seen as unbalanced, we understand that you guys are doing what you see as best. I just dont think i should be labeled (in an unmarked religious thread) as intolerant and rude JUST because i request that a warning and/or thread label is present next time.

  14. God describes a religon as "Where you belive in something and that YOU belive it is true/real." Since people BELIVE Atheistism is real, it is a religon

  15. If it is good, If it's not good. For me it's just a religion of no religion. There's nothing, nothing exists it's all facts or not. I don't care, I just hate seeing people trying to force seeing their point of view in their beliefs. You cannot avoid something that doesn't say what's going to be talked about.

    My god. **** this

    Someone close this ******* thread.

    EDIT: I can't handle it.
  16. Now, for my view on this, I am a strong Atheist and I believe everything can be solved by science, not a god, I do personally hate seeing religion threads as they get me pretty wound up as I often express a very strong view on things I don't believe in - I definitely think there needs to be a dedicated forum for it that we can hide if we wish to, if that's not possible we need to add [RELIGION] to the beginning of Religion titles.

  17. That a lot of people in EMC are protestant and that I don't like the idea of having religious forums here.

Going slightly off topic here. This image is from the Spigot forums - that run on Xenforo (like us). They have these fancy little prefix things, unlike our [Something] ones.

jk's point is that people "choose" to not put the prefix. Now, I'm not 100% sure, I think these are chosen from a list on the "create thread" screen. So, how about we get ones such as "Religion", put in red as a clickable option when in the misc section - meaning it's extremely easy and obvious to add. Just for clarification, I've now checked and they are indeed chosen from a menu on the create thread page.

This could be expanded to things such as the [AUCTION] prefix, and the [EVENT] one. Just a thought.

Tl;dr: a big bright red icon could work well.

  19. Atheism isn't a Religon, as I've just said it's a Rejection that there is a God - So god's "Description" of a religion does not apply to me or any Atheist as for it to apply to us, it has to actually 'exist in our minds and views'
    nfell2009 likes this.
  20. And to add, Atheism doesn't have a holy book or anything like that and has been going for thousand's of years because some people have different views and these views may mean religion.
