not really i dug 10k blocks in the nether the other day into newly generated nether to look for a new nether fortress and i found nothing, plus once you finally get there the wither skull drop happens so little you have a high chance of not getting one before the nether fortress becomes redundant.

It may take a while for me to get the rupees for a beacon. Since im not a supporter, it will take me months to get the money for it

Build and obsidian generator or find a grinder and enchant tools.

Beacons are actually quite easy to get if you're determined enough.

And I've earned about 200k in the past week not counting supporter bonuses, money is possible to earn.

Double chest auction are your friends

Being a supporter has nothing to do with it. While we initially make more money, we spend it faster too. Make yourself a good sized sugar cane farm, make paper, trade for emeralds, and then sell the emeralds or use them to get good stuff like glowstone. Like Dwight said, do double chest auctions. To be honest, the best way to make money is to 'feed' off of peoples laziness. Very few people out there are patient enough to get a double chest of obsidian, myself included in the lot that buys such things

More and more people still are getting nether stars for beacons
The price of them should come down any time now

Oh it has already. I've gotten several for 32k yesterday. Paid 60k for one the day of release. I'd expect them to average out to about 5-10k in the end. The skulls still take time to acquire, even farming them in ideal scenarios.

Or hopefully they will rise because the initial skull rush will have died down, and only the dedicated people will look and attempt to get a star.

That is unlikely to happen. People will still want more and people are still going into the nether to get them

If people farm them on a massive scale, then the price could drop to about 1k-5k

That's just it. I really don't see them dropping below 5k. That's 3 skulls and a wither fight. The alternative of making money and having no risk (like sheep farming) seems too temping.

If only people would farm wither skulls...

That's just it, I haven't see any way to efficiently farm them yet.
Out of all my time on the grinder on smp9, I have only seen three Wither skellys, and none of them gave skulls when killed.

Thats the new Mojang thing. They are all anti-farming everything pretty much now. I get that they want to make things a challenge, but they are being ridiculous about it now -_-
