  3. To whoever it concerns:
If you think the thread I made it helpful will you please put it on the homepage so more people can see it.
  4. Is this for people who updated to 1.3?
  5. No it shows How to save your 1.2.5 file and then play 1.3 then go back to 1.2.5
  6. Ok. Thanks
  7. This seems difficult.
  8. I don't think it is, do you know how to install mods?
  9. Not really.
I think this is easier than changing your texture pack
  10. THINGS YOU WILL NEED:

-WinRAR (Or any other program that can extract and open .jar files
    - The mod you wish to use (if it's in an archive, extract the files and get them ready)

BACKUP YOUR .MINECRAFT FOLDER BEFORE ANY MODDING
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST DATA

    STEP ONE:

Read the OP's instructions carefully, and look for updates in the thread carefully.

    To open your .minecraft folder:

    In Windows 7: C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft

    In Windows Vista/XP: C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Application Data\.minecraft

    Linux: /home/Your User Name/.minecraft

    Mac OS/X: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

    .minecraft Folder

The .minecraft folder looks something like this:

    -bin
    -resources
    -texturepacks
    -saves
    -options.txt

What's inside the bin folder is what we need:

    -natives
    -lwjgl.jar
    -minecraft.jar
    -jinput.jar
    -lwjgl_utility.jar
    -version file

Open the minecraft.jar file with WinRAR or the program of your choice. (Some programs may make another .jar file with the name "minecraft" in it, such as xau's HD Texture Patch which made a "minecraft-1.1_02" jar in my folder. Don't mod these .jar's, only mod "minecraft.jar")

    STEP TWO:

This part is really simple. Now that you have your .minecraft.jar open, you can follow the instructions of the mod you got. Most instructions are like this:

-Extract the contents of the mod to a temporary folder (I keep all my stuff in a folder called Minecraft Tools on my Desktop, makes it easier to do over if I screw up again).

-Drag and drop the contents of the mod into the WinRAR window that has minecraft.jar open. If the mod has any folders in it that are the same name as any in the minecraft.jar (such as armor or gui, don't worry, WinRAR will merge the contents together)

    -Delete the META-INF folder.

-Finish any other instructions, and then you're done!

  13. Great!! Here is how to install a texture pack:

    1. Download a texture pack in a ZIP file format. If you create your own textures, you need to ZIP them. For in-depth instructions on obtaining the files to make your own custom texture pack go to Tutorials/Custom Texture Packs.

    2. Run Minecraft. If you already have Minecraft running, make sure you save and quit the world: you need to be in the main menu to continue.

    3. Click Texture Packs button.

    4. Click Open Texture Pack Folder button; this will open the folder where Minecraft stores all texture packs. If nothing happens, you need to find the folder manually. Depending on your operating system it is:
    • Windows XP/Vista/7: %appdata%\.minecraft\texturepacks
    • GNU/Linux: ~/.minecraft/texturepacks (This folder may be hidden in the Home Folder)
    • Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/texturepacks (This folder may be hidden)
    5. Do not close Minecraft. Place the texture pack in the opened folder.

    6. In a few seconds the texture pack will appear in Minecraft. Select it and click Done. The texture pack is now applied, you may load your world and see the difference.

  16. In the first guide of awesome you used other than default font, now you use Font Family... :(

Maybe a guide for installing maps you downloaded?
  17. Step 1: First off you need to download the map.

Step 2: Now that you have the file, it is most likely in .rar or .zip format. Unzip it with your favorite unzipper. If you don't have one, download and install WinRAR here: http://www.rarlab.com/. I prefer Extracting it to my desktop.

Step 3: Rename the file that you just extracted (it is most likely named World) according to which slot you want it Installed to. For Example: If you want it as World 5 rename it World5. (NO SPACE BETWEEN WORLD AND #)

Step 4: Now copy or cut your newly acquirred World5 folder.

Step 5: Go to Start button (on Windows). Search Run and hit enter. A pop-up should come up. In the pop-up type " %appdata% " (Remove the quotes) and click OK.

Step 6: Find and Enter the "Roaming" file. Once inside that file, Find and Enter ".minecraft"

Step 7: In the .minecraft folder, find "saves". Paste your "World5" folder into saves.

Step 8: You're good to go. Play on your new world. Have Fun!
  18. Dont get it...
