I was thinking of a couple things that I wonder if can be done. #1. Regarding buildmode placed grass blocks. When they are placed in buildmode, they cannot be broken but they can still be altered by sheep. I wonder if it possible to either: Prevent sheep from being able to eat the grass of buildmode blocks completely, or Allow buildmode placed grass blocks that DO get eaten by sheep, to have the ability to grow back to grass while still remaining protected. (Normal buildmode placed dirt blocks would stay as dirt.) I understand this is what sheep do but at the same time vanilla creepers can blow up blocks and vanilla enderman can pick up blocks, all of which are prevented because of buildmode. I know sheep's actions are not entirely the same as those other 2 but still requires us to replace the blocks that do no grow back. #2. Regarding combat + sleeping in a bed. To begin... why is this a thing? It must have been added a while back as I do not recall why we have this. If I had to guess, it's was something to do with boss fighting but still don't see the connection. Do we not want people sleeping or setting there spawn in combat? Spawning back to your area in case you die can't be a bad thing? Anyways ... althought I do not recall WHY we have this, why would it matter if I killed a sheep or a cow but have to wait a full minute to sleep in a bed (mostly to sleep the night away)? I can only assume this feature is an all combat situation thing that is preventing you from sleeping. So can this system be looked into again? Is this something that is still needed? This suggestion may be better layed out once I recall why we have this. If someone remembers, please post here. I tried searching the forums but we know how well that works sometimes Thanks
vanilla already blocks sleeping in bed, while nearby monsters Maybe add/scale the timer only for diff6+ diff6 10 seconds diff7 20 seconds diff 8 30 seconds diff 9 40 seconds diff 10 60 seconds but diff5<below uses vanilla mechanics so +1 as for bmode sheep change, if its possible sure, however there might be techincal complications as it might be not block destruction but block state change?
Yeah the sleeping in a bed is annoying. I'm sure it's been brought up before though. I think it's to prevent setting spawn during boss fights. I will say about this, setting spawn during the boss fight's no good anyway since momo will most likely just instantly tp you and kill you again, eyeender will tp to you and kill you again. The only ones you'd probably survive is marlix and maybe sorgina(though her cats will probably get you pretty quick still anyway). So you'll probably just end up in a death loop. Can't count the number of times I've had to kill mobs so I can sleep the night only to have to wait another 60s. Makes it annoying when other people want you to sleep as well.
Players that are /away don't contribute to the "awake players" count - i.e. so long as one person sleeps in a bed, everyone else on the server can /away and the night will still be skipped. I can understand why it exists, so you can't just insta respawn wherever you want in the middle of a fight. It basically means you must be "safe" before sleeping. But yeah, I feel like the only times I've ever encountered it were unnecessary from a game balance perspective and just generally annoying. Flying over to a skeleton in and one shoting it with my max gear and beacon strength, then flying back to my bed only to sit and wait. At the very least I think you bring up an important point, having to wait after farming cows makes no sense. At the very least I'd suggest just removing passive mobs from the list of what counts as combat, if that's possible I could swear that I did a bunch of terraforming years ago which is definitely buildmoded (cleaning up smp9 wild center) and I didn't think I used all grass blocks. I could swear that grass, at least grass also placed by you in buildmode, spread to buildmode dirt.
