Sometimes it will. But it can ignite blocks, which ignite others. Especially if there happens to be an overhang.

Well extreme storms sound a little crazy to me .. Well looks like I PMed NKJ ingame for nothing on smp9.. Being in the ocean sucks during these guys.. Its crazy!!!!
